On Weds 02/06 Deputies arrested Anthony Knowland 32 of Baldwyn for Failing to Maintain Current Sex Offender Registration.  Ken Shackleford, our Sex Offender Registration Compliance Officer closely monitors the 61 register sex offender residing in Prentiss County.  At anytime an offender fails to meet the requirements set out by the State of Mississippi, Officer Shackleford obtains a warrant for the individual and the case is presented to the next Grand Jury. Our Department is very fortunate to have someone that volunteers his time to assume this responsibility.  In this particular case Knowland is being held without bond for failing to come to Circuit court for the first violation and will be facing an additional charge for a second violation.  The Mississippi Sex Offender Registry can be viewed online to see who these offenders are and where they live.
