On February 13, 2019, Prentiss County 911 gave out a call of a Chevrolet Suburban driving recklessly on Highway 45. Deputy Dallas Lumpkin responded to the call. While patrolling the area Deputy Lumpkin was side swiped by the Chevrolet Suburban. After activating lights and sirens the vehicle continued on Highway 45 recklessly a high rate of speed. Deputies eventually were able to get the vehicle stopped. The driver Gordon Kyle Sims 36 of Booneville was taken into custody and charged with Felony Failure to Stop Motor Vehicle When Officer Signals. Bond was set at $10,000.
