On Tuesday night April 9th, the Prentiss County 911 dispatched Deputies to the scene of a wreck on CR 1001 near the intersection with CR 1151. When Deputy Gunter Brumley arrived on the scene of the single vehicle crash, he determined that he female driver was driving under the influence of an illegal substance. During the investigation, Brumley discovered both Methamphetamine and illegal Pharmaceuticals in the drivers possession. The Driver, Jeanne Rebecca Cochran 47 of Booneville was arrested and charged with DUI-Second Offense, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor) and Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Her bond was set at $8,500, but due to the fact that she was under supervision by the MDOC, a hold was placed on her and she remains in custody at this time. Narcotics Investigator Grady Smith and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit is handling the case, that will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
On Weds afternoon April 17th, Deputies Aaron Stolz and his partner Dennis Peeks were manning a roadside safety checkpoint on CR 8301 near the intersection of CR 8140. During the coarse of their duties, they arrested Katie Elizabeth Roberts 27 of Rienzi after she approached the checkpoint. Roberts was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. She was charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roberts bond was set at $6,000. Narcotics Investigator Grady Smith and North Mississippi Narcotics are handling the case that will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury
