On September 23, Prentiss County Deputies arrested Katie Butler 27 of Booneville and Nathan Thomas O'Daniel 29 of Florence Al. The arrests stemmed from an investigation concerning stolen mail and identity theft, altering checks. A search warrant revealed a large quantity of evidence of their crimes. Deputy Aaron Stolz did much of the leg work assisted by Deputy Brandon Slack and Dennis Peeks. Investigator Torie Jumper is the lead investigator handling the case and will present the case to a Prentiss County Grand Jury. Butler was charged with Fraudulently Obtaining Services X 8, Credit Card Fraud x 2, Forgery x 4, Uttering a Forgery x 2, Burglary of a Commercial Building, False Pretense x 2. O'Daniel was charged with Burglary of a Building and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Additional charges will likely come once the case is presented to the Grand Jury. Butler's bond was set at $270,000 and she remains in custody. O'Daniel's bond was set at $135,000. Butler also has felony warrants out of Lauderdale County Alabama. This was a very in depth case and the Investigator and Deputies are to be commended for their hard work.
