Saturday morning Feb 16th, a Burglary/Theft was reported to the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Aaron Stolz responded to the Burglary and initiated the investigation. The location was a home construction site on CR 5011 (Wheeler Community). The victims reported that someone had stolen batteries from two pieces of equipment that was being used to do dirt work on the site. There was substantial damage done to the equipment. A shop building also located on the site had been burglarized and additional batteries taken from tractors inside the shop. Deputy Stolz discovered evidence that led to a potential suspect in the case. Investigator Dewayne Mink joined the investigation shortly thereafter. Around 3pm that afternoon, Sheriff Tolar located the suspect at a residence on CR 5111. Deputy Aaron Stolz and Sheriff Tolar took the suspect into custody without incident and r
ecovered four (4) batteries
The suspect is identified as Russell "Rusty" Ray Hutcheson Jr, 37 of Booneville. Hutcheson is charged with Burglary, Malicious Mischief, Petty Larceny and Trespassing. His bond was set at $5,000 on the Felony and $2,000 on the misdemeanors. He remains in jail at this time. The case will be prepared and presented to a Prentiss County Grand Jury.
