Burglary Solved, Man Arrested

On Tuesday May 17th Prentiss County Deputies and Investigators arrested Nathan Vuncannon 26 of CR 8311 Booneville. The arrest was a culmination of an investigation of a residential burglary that was reported May 6th inwhich four guns were stolen. Vuncannon is allegedly went into the residence and took a Beretta 12 gauge Automatic Ducks Unlimited Limited Edition Shotgun, a Marlin 30-30 rifle, a SKS and a Ruger MK 2 Bolt Action 7MM Rifle with a Walnut stock, Nikon Scope and a Leather Sling with a Deer Head image on it. Vuncannon is accused of selling three of the guns after the theft. We are attempting to determine what happened to the Ruger 7MM. If anyone has purchased a gun from Vuncannon fitting that description or know the whereabouts of it, please contact the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office at 662-728-2002 or call Crimestoppers for a cash reward at 1-800-773-TIPS (8477).
Vuncannon is free on a $25,000 bond.

The arrest came as the result of the use of Social Media (Facebook). The Sheriff's Office posted the report of the incident and a description of the guns along with a photo of a similiar Beretta Ducks Unlimited Shotgun which was a relatively uncommon, Limited Edition shotgun, A Honest Citizen viewed the post and realized he had purchased three of the weapons. He immediately contacted Law Enforcement. We appreciate the cooperation of honest people like this individual. The remaining Ruger 7MM Rifle is still on there.
