Prentiss County Authorities have arrested two individuals after they were caught on video Monday August 8th at the scene of a Break in and almost caught by the property owners. The video provided a good description of the vehicle which was spotted pulling a trailer yesterday morning in the Jumpertown area. The couple were eventually caught and transported to the Prentiss County jail. The trailer was determined to have been stolen from Alcorn County. Investigators looking through the contents of the trailer located evidence that led us to a house on CR 8251. Investigators went to the residence and determined that an outbuilding had been burglarized. The property owners identified most of the items on the trailer as having been stolen from the outbuilding. Further investigation has determined that other items were property taken from multiple burglaries in Alcorn County and Corinth. The suspect vehicle was a 2002 Silver Trailblazer. Jason Bates 36 of Rienzi and Christy Bates 30 also of Rienzi were charged with 2 Counts each of Burglary of a Building in Prentiss County. Both are awaiting their initial appearance before a Judge. The Mississippi Department of Corrections has hold on both for violations of their probation/parole. The couple will likely face charges in Corinth and Alcorn County.
