
During the late night hours of Wednesday Night 04/25/2012, Prentiss County Narcotics Investigators and Deputies along with Booneville Narcotics Officer executed a search warrant at 55 CR 6121 Baldwyn. Investigators discovered a working Methamphetamine Lab with components both inside and outside the residence. Investigators seized numerous precursors used in manufacturing methamphetamine and a handgun. Officers arrested Brandon Ray Conwill 30 and charged him with Possession of Precursors with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine/Enhanced while in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. His bond has not been set at this time. "The Prescription Law that was passed in Mississippi a couple of years ago significantly reduced the number of Methamphtamine Manufacturing cases that we handle, but like with all things the folks making Meth find ways to skirt around the laws meant to restrict them." "Our Meth problem is still a reality but not nearly what it was prior to the most recent legistation was passed." " Our neighboring states have attempted to pass similiar legislation but faced obstacles from the pharmacuetical companies" It would really help us if they could get these laws put into place in our neighboring states"
