On Tuesday Night May 21st, the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office was advised by Prentiss County 911 of a shooting incident that had just occurred at the Best Inn in Booneville involving an Individual by the name of Jonathan Lambert and that he had left the scene in a Tan Chevrolet Impala, traveling North on Hwy 145. Deputy Gunter Brumley responded to the area and spotted the vehicle near the intersection of CR 1150 on CR 1121. Brumley attempted to stop the vehicle which fled North on CR 1121. The vehicle eventually stopped and the shooting suspect was taken into custody. Deputy Brumley found Methamphetamine in the suspects vehicle during a search of the vehicle. Narcotics Investigator Grady Smith and City Criminal Investigator Corie Robbins responded to the scene of the arrest. It was determined that Lambert had thrown the handgun from the vehicle while fleeing from Deputy Brumley on CR 1121. The gun was recovered and taken into evidence. It was later determined that Lambert had allegedly fired one shot into a vehicle near the Thrasher Baptist Church. Lambert, 29 of Corinth was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Domestic Violence, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Tampering with Physical Evidence and Numerous Traffic Related Violations. Lambert's Bond was set at $200,000 on the Felony charges and $3,500 on the misdemeanor charges. The Felony Charges with be presented to a future Grand Jury. Lambert also faces charges stemming from the incident at the Best Inn being Investigated by Booneville Police
