Theft Related Arrests

On 09/08/2012 Prentiss County Deputies Arrested Michael Paul Pounds 33 of 144 CR 4181 New Site and charged him with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining or Disposing of Stolen Property.  The charges stemmed from the theft of a John Deere Lawn Mower stolen from Booneville Sunday 09/02/2012.  The mower was recovered.
Our investigation led to two other arrests , both on 09/11/2012. Arrested were William Todd Bryant 46 of 99 CR 3151 Booneville and Joseph Wolf Walters 27 of 14 Burleson Road Mantachie.  Bryant was charged with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining and Disposing of Stolen Property and Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
enhanced while in Possession of a Firearm.  Walters was charged with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining, Disposing of Stolen Property.  Bonds have been set for Pounds at $5,000 with a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Bryant's bond was set at $10,000 for the two charges and Walters has a $5,000 bond set but has
a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
During the investigation, Investigators executed search warrantsat both, Pounds and Bryant residences.  During the search of Bryant's residence Officers discovered a pull trailer had had been stolen the previous day from the Farmington Community in Alcorn County and a quantity of Methamphetamine.  Everything came together in this case
and hopefully may have prevented future criminal activity.  The case is still under investigation as additional leads come in.
