

Thursday, Dec.13th a Luncheon meeting of Local Law Enforcement was held at a local resturaunt, Catfish Country. The Meeting is one of a series of meetings that have been held by the Mississippi Office of Highway Safety, concerning Highway safety issues such as DUI Enforcement, Seatbelt Safety and Child Restraint Safety. The MS Department of Highway Safety provides Grant funding for numerous things including overtime for Officer and Training to help enforce the above mentioned safety violations. This particular meeting was set to kick off a safety Blitz called Be Sober or Get Pulled Over. The reporting period is Dec. 13th-Jan, 1, 2013. Around 50 Law Enforcement Personel attended the meeting representing Prentiss County Sheriff's Office, Booneville Police Department, Pontotoc Sheriff's Office, Pontotoc Police Department, Corinth Police Department, New Albany Police Department,Union County Sheriff's Office,Ms Highway Safety Patrol, Sherman Police and Myrtle Police and Tupelo Police and others.
This agency has helped local Law Enforcement agencies with resources that has aided us in doing our jobs more effeciently therefore implementing measures to save live on our public roads and Highways.
